Another perfect morning for running beckoned the field of sixty in the Goodlife Health Clubs teams event. The handicappers with the help of the computer assembled the entrants into twenty teams of similar standing. It was Team 5 who was to dominate the final two legs after their lead runner, Murray Long, gained valuable ground on those teams who started off before him. Rachael Thompson, the fastest female on the day, then set up what seemed an unassailable lead for final runner, Michael Orelli. So it proved with Orelli able to hold off the closing pack by 120 metres with a flurry of teams finishing in quick succession. The winning team had all been in sparkling form this season so on reflection their victory was not a surprise. Alex Romaniw was the fastest male.
