The fog lifted as the 72 starters in the Café Zoo 7 km handicap at Drysdale lined up. Three laps of the true cross country course around the recreation reserve provided a stern test. It was handicapper, Justin Curran, who swamped Vanice Kelly in sight of the finish with Michael Morton forty metres behind in third place. It was Curran’s second handicap win, having been successful at Fyansford last season, another hilly course. Sara Coulter and Grant Simpson were both convincing fastest times winners.
