Another beautiful Sunday morning greeted the 112 contestants in the Bellarine Print 8 km handicap held along the Ocean Grove foreshore. Due to renovations, a course alteration, which included quite a bit more soft sand, was required. Brendan O’Brien and Kevin McNulty, who had filled the minor placings the past two Sundays, were involved in a close tussle with O’Brien holding sway by 20 metres with evergreen legend, Vin Gasper, a further 50 metres astern. O’Brien is a second year runner who has improved steadily since joining the club. Invitee, Heidi Demeo, was the fastest female by twelve seconds whilst in the males Grant Simpson, who is in career best form, was fastest by over two and a half minutes.
