The Intersport DeGrandi 21100m Handicap

A moderate westerly breeze tempered conditions for the 71 starters in the the Intersport Degrandi 21.1 km handicap along the Barwon River paths. The runners certainly appreciated the tail wind in the final two kilometres. It was Peter McDonough who forged to the lead inside the last 600 metres to go on to win by 90 metres from Mark Humphrey with Jeff Walker a further 20 metres away third. McDonough, who has struggled with injury since recording two victories in 2013, put the writing on the wall with a placing at Anglesea last Sunday. Sara Coulter was the fastest female by over 12 minutes whilst Zac Boothroyd recorded his first ever fastest in the male division.

Sean Thompson was congratulated on reaching his 100 run milestone.
