The Injury Clinic 8000m Handicap

A blustery wind greeted the sixty-eight starters in the Injury Clinic 8 km handicap at Anglesea. A modified course was used due to the cliff trail being off limits to the public. The course was still demanding and it was noted hill specialist Sean Thompson who overtook Aaron Herbert 100 metres from the finish to go on to win by 15 metres with Mark Humphrey a further 50 metres away third. The past two seasons have been very productive for Thompson with two sealed series wins as well as winning the tough Inverleigh race early last season. The bonus cash prizes donated by the Watkins Training Group for the fastest of each gender were taken out by Rachael Thompson, sister of the winner, and Tom Hockley-Samon, a member of that training group.
