A strengthening breeze and a very hilly section mid-race past Buckley Falls made racing challenging for the 88 competitors in the Pakington Bakery and Point Lonsdale Physiotherapy 8 km handicap at Fyansford. Regular placegetter, Rachael Thompson, who has overcome serious health issues, broke through for her first club win. Thompson enjoys trail running and is adept on hilly courses. She scored by 70 metres from Rob Solly with Phil Shay a further 60 metres back. Sara Coulter was the fastest female and Tom Hockley-Samon in his first official club run was the fastest male. David Whelan was acclaimed for reaching his 100 run milestone. Thanks to the many members who acted as marshals and recorders.
