Sixty-four starters lined up for the the Carol and Terry Crawford Funerals 8 km memorial handicap at the Saints baseball field in Waurn Ponds. The run on the paths beside the creek usually suits frontmarkers and it was the consistent Jeanette Morton who was able to hold off the fast finishing Andrew McGrillen by 40 metres with Sean Thompson a further 20 metres astern. Morton’s victory was her fourth win in her 7 years with the club. Sharon Pedersen and Craig Davis were each fastest of their gender by over half a minute. Sponsor Carol Crawford paid a touching tribute to those members who have passed away whilst part of the club.
